Thematic maps are a very good way to show weather averages in differents places. Soil types, poverty levels, and population density are also topics shown often with thematic maps.

This is a Topographic map of India. Topographic maps are maps that show changes in the landscapes of an area and different physical characteristics of that area. This particular map shows the elavation of the land and the lands rivers.

This is a picture of a mental map drawn by a 41 year old homeless man named Stephen. He was drawing a picture of Amerstam. The idea of the different maps of Amerstam from different people was to show the idea of how mental maps from people can produce a different picture and different point of view every time. Mental maps are are based on the experiences of a person and can have be unrealiable. Mentals can help city planners have a better idea of what people notice as needing updates.
