Doppler Radar

Source:http://www.eclac.cl/celade/proyecciones/basedatos_BD.htm

This is a doppler radar map. Doppler radar maps show movement of wind and rain in our atmosphere. They do this by sending microwave beams and waiting to retrieves the beams reflection. This allows the doppler to know where things are moving and how fast they are doing so. The actual map above is a picture of a storm over Florida in 2004. This is actually Hurricane Frances.
